Adrien ‘The Problem’ Broner started his career as many do in the amateurs. His record there was a extremely respectable 300-18. He sprang onto the professional scene with a first round knockout of Allante Davis and hasn’t look back since.
Starting in the super featherweight division before moving up to lightweight Broner (at the time of writing this) has managed to capture a world title at both weights. With his obvious size advantage over opponents in the feather and light weight divisions it is obvious Adrien will follow in the footsteps of other pound for pound greats such as Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao and move up the weights. The need to move up to Lightweight was almost forced upon him after coming in well over the allowed weight for his Featherweight bout with Vicente Escobedo.
On the 22nd June 2013 Broner stepped up two weight divisions to compete at Welterweight against Paul Malignaggi. The WBA Welterweight title was at stake. During the run up to the bout there was a lot of animosity between the two fighters but Broner would come out victorious. It was however noticed that the drastic jump in weight may have affected Broner’s performance.
Adrien was born 28th of July 1989 in Cincinnati, USA. His extravagant displays, backed with obvious boxing skills have earned him many comparisons with Floyd Mayweather who he has formed a closer and closer relationship with during the twilight of Mayweather’s career.
